Bukan: Reza Alaei Released from Prison

Reza Alaei, a director and filmmaker from the city of Baneh, has been temporarily released from Bukan prison on bail, pending the completion of legal proceedings.

According to Kolbarnews, the 43-year-old filmmaker Reza Alaei was released on bail recently after a brief detention in Bukan. Reza Alaei had been arrested by security forces on Wednesday, September 11, 2024, in the parking lot of his home in Baneh and taken to an undisclosed location. Reports indicate that his detention occurred without any judicial warrant.

Reza Alaei, born in 1986, is married with three children. He has directed several films, including the feature film Zewiyeh Pisakan (Dirty Lands). As of this report, the reasons for his arrest and the charges against him remain unknown.
