Ahmad Hassanzadeh, the father of Mohammad Hassanzadeh, who was killed during the 2022 nationwide protests, has been arrested again by security forces in Bukan.
According to Kolbarnews, on Sunday, September 15, 2024, during the second anniversary of the “Jina” revolutionary uprising, Ahmad Hassanzadeh was detained in front of his home in Bukan by local security forces. Shortly after his arrest, he notified his family, but his phone was turned off, and no further information about his whereabouts is available.
This arrest follows a previous incident on August 1, 2024, when both Ahmad Hassanzadeh and his daughter, Solmaz Hassanzadeh, were violently detained by intelligence forces in their home. Although Ahmad was temporarily released on a 4-billion-toman bail the following day, Solmaz remains in detention and is currently being held in the women’s ward of Urmia prison.
Ahmad and Solmaz had also been arrested in Bukan last year. Ahmad’s son, Mohammad Hassanzadeh, was killed on November 16, 2022, during the “Jina” uprising in Bukan, when security forces shot him.
