Matin Hassani, a resident of Bukan and a victim of eye injury during the November 2019 protests, has been transferred to Bukan Prison to serve his prison sentence.
According to Kolbarnews, on Tuesday, August 26, 2024, Matin Hassani was sent to Bukan Prison to begin serving his sentence.
Earlier, on July 7, 2024, he was summoned by the First Branch of the Criminal Enforcement Office of the Public and Revolutionary Prosecutor’s Office in Bukan to execute his prison sentence.
Matin Hassani was sentenced to thirty-one months in prison by the 101st Branch of the Criminal Court of Bukan. His trial took place on Thursday, May 16, 2024, where he was charged with “incitement to war and massacre” and “propaganda against the regime.”
In April 2024, Matin Hassani was summoned to the local prosecutor’s office to provide his final defense regarding the charge of “propaganda against the regime.”
On January 23, 2024, he was arrested by security forces at his family home without a court order. After spending a month in detention, he was released on bail from Bukan Prison.
Matin Hassani lost vision in one of his eyes at the age of 19 during the nationwide protests in November 2019, when he was shot in Bukan.
