Bukan: Denial of Medical Leave for Political Prisoner Hassan Mardani

Hassan Mardani, a political prisoner serving his sentence in Bukan Prison, has been denied medical leave despite suffering from health issues.

According to Kolbarnews, Hassan Mardani, who is currently serving his sentence in Bukan Prison, has been deprived of his right to medical leave despite requiring urgent medical attention.

Mardani suffers from heart disease and prostate issues and is in need of medical care. However, the Bukan Intelligence Office has opposed his request for medical leave, preventing his access to necessary treatment.

Hassan Mardani, 65 years old, was arrested by security forces in Bukan on August 10, 2023, without a judicial warrant. He was released on bail from Bukan Prison on October 8, 2023.

In December 2023, he was sentenced to three years in prison by Branch 101 of the Bukan Criminal Court on charges of “membership and cooperation with one of the opposition parties against the Iranian government.” He was re-arrested on January 30, 2024, to serve his sentence and was transferred to Bukan Prison.
