Emergency forces in Bandar Abbas fired shots while chasing a Sukhtbari vehicle within the city.
According to Kolbarnews, on Wednesday, March 5, 2025, emergency forces in Bandar Abbas engaged in a high-risk pursuit of a Sukhtbari vehicle, opening fire during the chase in the city.
Reports indicate that the incident took place in Bandar Abbas. In an attempt to stop the Sukhtbar, officers forced the vehicle to drive against traffic, creating panic among residents.
Gunshots were reportedly heard during the pursuit, but no official reports have confirmed injuries to the Sukhtbar.
Such urban chases have repeatedly led to traffic accidents, casualties, property damage, and public insecurity.
Sukhtbari considered one of the unconventional and dangerous occupations that many Baloch people in Balochistan are forced to engage in due to the lack of suitable and stable employment opportunities. Accidents, vehicle overturns, and direct shootings by military and security forces are some of the dangers that threaten the lives of Sukhtbars. According to reports by Baloch activists, in 2024, at least 240 Baloch Sukhtbars lost their lives due to shootings by military forces, traffic accidents, and vehicle fires, while 135 others were injured in these incidents, 19 of whom were children.
