Bahabad: Fatal Truck Accident at Chahar-Chameh Coal Mine

A truck driver lost his life after his vehicle plunged into a ravine at the Chahar-Chameh coal mine in Bahabad County.

According to Kolbarnews, a truck fell from a height into a ravine while transporting coal at the Chahar-Chameh coal mine, resulting in the death of the driver. Details regarding the identity of the driver and the exact cause of the accident are not available at the time of this report.

It is noteworthy that the Chah-Chameh mine, the only coal mine in Yazd Province, operates as an open-pit mine.

In 2023, a total of 2,115 workers (2,094 men and 21 women) lost their lives in work-related incidents, marking an 11.3% increase compared to the previous year, which recorded 1,900 fatalities.
