According to Kolbarnews, in 2024, a total of 345 Kolbars in the border areas and inter-road routes of the provinces of West Azerbaijan, Kurdistan, and Kermanshah were killed or injured due to factors such as direct shooting by regime military forces, avalanches and hypothermia, landmine explosions, and falls from mountains and heights, among other incidents.
- Of these, 59 Kolbars (17%) were killed, and 286 Kolbars (83%) were injured.
- A 15% increase in the number of Kolbars killed and injured compared to 2023.
- Out of the total 345 Kolbars killed or injured in 2024, 259 cases (75%) were due to direct shooting by regime military forces.
- Of the 345 Kolbars killed or injured, 22 (6%) were child Kolbars under 18 years old, including one death caused by hypothermia.
