Afghanistan: 22 Miners Rescued from Collapsed Coal Mine in Samangan

Following the collapse of a coal mine in Dara-e-Suf Payin district of Samangan province, all 22 miners trapped under the rubble were successfully rescued through the efforts of emergency teams.

According to Kolbarnews, Esmatullah Moradi, spokesperson for the governor of Samangan, shared this positive news, adding that the incident had occurred in recent days and that the rescue operation was carried out swiftly and meticulously. Initial reports had estimated the number of trapped workers at around 35, but further investigation confirmed the actual figure to be 22.

Moradi emphasized that all rescued miners were pulled out alive and are now under medical supervision.

Osman Hamidi, head of the Samangan Provincial Hospital, also confirmed the news, stating that medical teams and ambulances were present at the site from the beginning and spared no effort to save the miners.
