Abdanan: Two Workers Killed and Two Others Injured

An explosion in a building in Abdanan led to the death of two workers and the injury of two others.

According to Kolbarnews, on Saturday, May 25, 2024, an explosion occurred in a residential building, resulting in the death of two workers and injuries to two others.

The report indicates that the explosion happened during the digging of a channel when the drilling machine hit a city gas pipeline. The explosion destroyed the residential unit, and two workers, named Mousa Vatandoost and Esmail Nabati, both married and residents of Hezarani Township, lost their lives.

Two other workers were injured in the incident and were taken to the hospital. The exact identities and conditions of these individuals have not yet been officially announced.

It is noteworthy that a total of 2,115 workers (2,094 men and 21 women) lost their lives in work-related accidents in the year 1402, marking an 11.3% increase compared to the previous year, which recorded 1,900 fatalities.

Iran ranks 102nd globally in terms of workplace safety, which is considered a very low ranking.
