A report on last condition of Rafiq Salimi

Rafiq Salimi, is a labor activist living in Sanandaj. He was arrested at same time as nationwide uprising in Iran in response to murder of Jina Amini and was sentenced to long term imprisonment on charges of war.
On 26/11/2022, Fwad Salimi and Rafiq Salimi were arrested by Sanandaj intelligence agents. After their arrest, they were transferred to Sanandaj intelligence detention center.
On 27/12/2022, Rafiq Salimi and his son Fwad Salimi are still being held in Sanandaj Intelligence Department detention center, more than a month after their arrest.
According to an informed source, father and son were denied access to a lawyer and family visits during their detention.
This informed source stated: Court has set a bail of 500 million tomans for release of Fwad Salimi, and despite bail being granted, he remains in detention.
On Monday, 27/12/2022 Rafiq Salimi and Fwad Salimi were arrested by security forces without a judicial warrant and transferred to Sanandaj Intelligence Department detention center for interrogation.
On 13/1/2023, Rafiq Salimi was accused of “corruption on earth”.
Rafiq Salimi, a citizen of Sanandaj who was arrested by security forces in November 2022, was charged with “corruption on earth.”
One of relatives of this citizen said in this regard: On Sunday, 29/1/2023, Rafiq Salimi’s family went to court to inquire about his status, where they were informed that he was accused of “corruption on earth.”
On Wednesday, 18/1/2023, Rafiq Salimi was transferred from Sanandaj Intelligence Department detention center to city’s prison.
This citizen was denied access to a lawyer and visits with his family during his detention.
He was tortured in Sanandaj Intelligence Department detention center to extract forced confessions.
On Monday, 28/11/2022, Mr. Salimi was arrested by security forces without a judicial warrant and transferred to Sanandaj Intelligence Department detention center.
On 18/1/2023, Rafiq Salimi was transferred to Sanandaj Prison. He is sick and continues to be deprived of medical services.
Rafiq Salimi, a citizen of Sanandaj, was arrested by security forces on 28/11/2022. He was held in Sanandaj Ministry of Intelligence detention center for 51 days.
He was subjected to physical and mental torture during his detention. At same time as Mr. Salimi, his son, Fwad Salimi, was also arrested and was temporarily released after 45 days on bail of 1 billion tomans pending completion of investigation of case.
Mr. Salimi was transferred to Sanandaj Central Prison on Wednesday, 18/1/2023, and has been in limbo since then, with his charges still unclear.
Rafiq Salimi is ill and in need of medical treatment and is deprived of medical services.
On 29/1/2023, Rafiq Salimi, one of those arrested during nationwide protests of 2022, is still being held in detention and uncertainty in Sanandaj Central Prison, more than 4 months after his arrest.
According to Kolbarnews, Rafiq Salimi, 1 of detainees of nationwide protests of 2022, is still in detention and in limbo in quarantine of Sanandaj Central Prison, more than 4 months after his arrest.
On Sunday, 29/1/2023, Rafiq Salimi’s family went to court to inquire about status of his case, where they were informed that Rafiq Salimi’s indictment had been issued by Second Investigation Branch of Public and Revolutionary Prosecutor’s Office of Sanandaj and his case had been referred to Revolutionary Court. Based on this indictment, which was issued by Judge Naqizadeh, Deputy Prosecutor and Head of Second Branch of Public and Revolutionary Prosecutor’s Office of Sanandaj, Mr. Salimi has been charged with “corruption on earth.”
Rafiq Salimi was transferred to Sanandaj Central Prison on Wednesday, 18/1/2023, after more than 50 days of detention and torture in Intelligence Department’s detention centers.
Previously, a source close to Salimi’s family told Kolbarnews: “Rafiq Salimi is sick and suffers from physical problems and needs medical attention, daily access and treatment.”
Rafiq Salimi and his son Fwad Salimi were arrested by security forces in Sanandaj city on Monday, 28/11/2022, at Fwad Salimi’s workplace and taken to an unknown location.
Finally, on Sunday, 18/1/2023, Fwad Salimi was temporarily released from Sanandaj Central Prison after posting a bail of 1 billion tomans, pending completion of trial. Rafiq and Fwad Salimi were deprived of access to a lawyer and visits with their family during their detention.
According to a source close to Rafiq and Fwad Salimi, they have been severely tortured mentally and physically by security forces in Sanandaj Intelligence Department detention center.
Rafiq Salimi is also 1 of many detainees of recent nationwide protests who has been charged with “corruption on earth,” a charge that these days revolutionary courts issue as a vindictive charge to instill fear against protesters and then issue death sentences against them.
On 13/4/2023, Rafiq Salimi, a citizen of Sanandaj who was arrested by security forces on 28/11/2022, on charges of “corruption on earth,” is being held in quarantine at Sanandaj Central Prison without right to a lawyer or to visit his family.
An indictment has been issued for this arrested citizen on charges of “corruption on earth” and has been sent to Second Branch of Sanandaj Revolutionary Court for consideration.
It is said that Judge Naghizadeh, deputy prosecutor and head of Branch 2 of Sanandaj Revolutionary Court, deprived arrested citizen of right to a lawyer under pretext of “security reasons” for case.
Rafiq Salimi and his son Fwad Salimi were arrested by security forces in Sanandaj on 28/11/2022, and transferred to city’s Intelligence Department detention center. Fwad Salimi was temporarily released after 45 days of detention on bail of 1 billion tomans.
Rafiq Salimi was subjected to physical and mental torture during interrogation at Sanandaj Intelligence Department detention center to force him to confess. On 18/1/2023, after end of interrogation, he was temporarily transferred to quarantine of Sanandaj Central Prison and is currently being held in quarantine in prison.
He has suffered hearing loss due to torture in Intelligence Bureau detention center and has been denied access to medical services.

On 16/7/2023, Court hearing on charges against Rafiq Salimi, a labor activist imprisoned in Sanandaj Central Prison, was held via video conference.
According to Kolbarnews, on Sunday, 16/7/2023, court hearing on charges against Rafiq Salimi, a labor activist imprisoned in Sanandaj Central Prison, was held via video conference. According to this report, second court hearing has been postponed to another 15 days, on 31/7/2023.
Mr. Salimi had previously been summoned to Sanandaj Revolutionary Court on 16/4/2023, presided over by Judge Naqizadeh, Deputy Prosecutor and Head of Branch 2 of Sanandaj Revolutionary and General Court. During this court session, Rafiq Salimi was charged with ”creating illegal groups and acting against country’s national security” and ”corruption on earth.” According to Rafiq Salimi’s family, this labor activist denied all charges brought against him during this court session and defended himself.

On 24/7/1402, Rafiq Salimi is also 1 of many detainees of recent nationwide protests who has been charged with “corruption on earth,” a charge that is currently being issued in revolutionary courts as a vindictive charge to instill fear against protesters and will result in heavy sentences for those detained.
According to Kolbarnews, Rafiq Salimi, a labor activist imprisoned in Sanandaj Central Prison, who was sentenced to 10 years in prison by second branch of Sanandaj Islamic Revolution Court by Judge “Naghizadeh” on charge of “War”; In spite of many physical diseases, he is still deprived of access to a doctor and proper treatment.
Rafiq Salimi has been subjected to most severe physical and mental tortures in Sanandaj Intelligence Department detention center for 51 days. Mr. Salimi was injured in shoulder and ear area as a result of torture in detention center of Sanandaj Intelligence Department, and for about 11 months, no measures have been taken to treat this political prisoner inside or outside prison.
On Sunday, 16/7/2023, court hearing on charges of Rafiq Salimi, a labor activist imprisoned in Sanandaj Central Prison, was held through video conference. Second session of court was postponed for another 15 days, on 31/7/2023.
Mr. Salimi was previously summoned to Sanandaj Revolutionary Court headed by Judge Naghizadeh Deputy Prosecutor and Head of Second Branch of Sanandaj Revolutionary and General Court on 16/4/2023. During this court session, Rafiq Salimi was accused of “creating illegal groups and acting against country’s national security” and “corruption in land”. According to Rafiq Salimi’s family, this labor activist denied all accusations against him and defended himself in this court session.

According to a close source, Rafiq and Fwad Salimi were severely tortured mentally and physically by security forces in detention center of Sanandaj Intelligence Department.
Rafiq Salimi is also 1 of numerous detainees of recent nationwide protests who has been accused of “corruption in land”, a charge that these days is issued in revolutionary courts as a vindictive charge to create terror against protesters and will bring heavy sentences for detainees. 
On 26/9/2024, Latest condition 
Rafiq Salimi, a Kurdish labor activist and 1 of detainees of “Women Life Freedom” movement, imprisoned in Sanandaj Central Prison (Sne), who was sentenced to 10 years in prison by second branch of Revolutionary Court of this city headed by Judge Taghizadeh for charge of “warfare”, surrendered according to court’s decision, his sentence was reduced to 9 years in prison. Since his arrest, he has been deprived of right to access treatment and right to leave.
Recently, 10 year prison sentence of Rafiq Salimi, a labor activist from Sanandaj, was reduced to 9 years by submitting to court’s decision. During his detention in detention center of Intelligence Department and Sanandaj Central Prison, he was deprived of access to right to leave and medical care, despite suffering from numerous physical ailments.
This labor activist was subjected to most severe physical and mental tortures during his more than 50 days of detention in detention center of Sanandaj Intelligence Department, and despite fact that he was injured in shoulder and ear areas as a result of these tortures, no measures were taken to treat him inside or outside prison.
Court hearing on Rafiq Salimi’s accusations was held on 16/7/2023 through video conference, and second hearing was postponed to 15 days later on 31/7/2023. On 16/4/2023, he was accused of “creating illegal groups and acting against national security” and “corruption on earth” by second branch of Sanandaj Revolutionary Court headed by Judge “Taghizadeh” and he denied all accusations during this meeting.
On Monday, 28/11/2022, this citizen along with his son Fwad Salimi was arrested by security forces of Islamic Republic of Iran at his son’s place of work and transferred to Sanandaj Intelligence Department.
Finally, Rafiq Salimi was transferred to central prison of Sanandaj after more than 50 days of detention on Wednesday, 18/1/2023. Fwad Salimi was also temporarily released from Sanandaj Central Prison on Sunday, 8/1/2023, with a bail of 1 billion tomans until end of proceedings.
